Land Trust of Virginia protects 60-acre Lovettsville Game Club
The Lovettsville Game Club, a 60-acre property owned and operated by the Lovettsville Game Protection Association, is in development-stricken Loudoun County. Now permanently protected by a conservation easement, this property will continue to promote the Association’s mission to preserve wildlife and unite landowners and sportsmen. Numerous conservation values, including falling within the watershed of the Chesapeake Bay, scenic open space, working farmland, two lengths of stream and a pond, motivated the Association to preserve the property.
Lovettsville Game Club is the 211th easement completed by the Land Trust of Virginia. We currently have 215 easements recorded in 22 counties across the state, totaling over 25,000 acres. In Loudoun County alone, nearly 10,000 acres are in conservation by LTV. As development pressure mounts across the state, working with like minded organizations like the Lovettsville Game Protection Association is critical to preserving our natural and historic resources.
